Job Overview

Job Summary: Performs building enclosure inspections and tests of new and existing building to ensure work is being performed in accordance with the project documents, manufacturers' requirements and standard practices.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspection and surveillance of construction work to ensure the work is in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications
  • Perform building enclosure inspections and tests
  • Evaluate/determine that delivered doors meet the design intent before installation
  • Perform condition surveys
  • Produce field reports for work performed
  • Write technical reports and procedure manuals
  • Provide appropriate documentation in RMS 3.0

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret design documents, specifications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, and the public
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to obtain appropriate US government security clearance and/or access to secured client site
  • Time management and Organization skills

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of Five years of experience in construction or architectural, interiors and enclosure including (for example) the following components: Interior and exterior framed walls, doors, frames and hardware, windows and window shades, acoustical and framed ceilings, interior lighting and furniture, fixtures and equipment
  • BS or BA Degree in Architectural Engineering or Building Construction Science preferred
  • Experience with building construction sciences, enclosure systems, architectural design, enclosure testing, enclosure commissioning and retro-commissioning preferred
  • OSHA-10 Safety Course minimum, OSHA-30 preferred
  • Army Corp of Engineering or other federal project experience preferred
  • Project Experience on project(s) of $100 million preferred
  • Experience with RMS 3.0 preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments; able to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions
  • Able to stand for eight hours or more at a time
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
