We are seeking a Building Automation Engineer to support our cutting-edge BAS takeover commercial projects. The Building Automation Engineer will work as part of a team responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of BACnet-based building automation systems. This position requires communicating clearly with customers, contractors, engineers, and fellow team members.

This position is responsible for providing high-quality data analysis, data mapping, programming per specifications, standards, budgets, and schedules, and participating in a team to design, install, and service building automation.

Job Duties:
  • Become the lead engineer configuring ENTOUCH technology integrated with BACnet and other devices on enterprise-class projects. Specifically, analyzing existing configurations, analyzing captured data, and executing detailed data mapping to control and monitor third-party systems.
  • Complete tasks, so systems are ready for pre-functional tests, commissioning/startup, to client turnover.
  • Assist the application engineer in reviewing contract documentation, sequences of operations, and commissioning documents throughout the project life cycle
  • Work with the software development team to improve the configuration management tools and processes
  • Work with Project Managers during the installation phase of projects to keep subcontractors on track and on schedule.
  • Manage communications with subcontractors, engineers, and project managers efficiently so that they are addressed in a timely manner while balancing work assignments
  • Participate in basic field startup using standard start-up and checkout processes. (Travel as needed)
  • Remotely manage job closeout to include: checkout, start-up, documentation, and commissioning of projects.
  • Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure the complete system functions properly.
  • Conduct job-specific customer training upon completion of the job
  • Provide technical support and direction to end-users and employees when applicable.
  • Work on continually improving existing configuration templates for existing installations to ensure best practices.

Qualifications:
  • 3 - 5+ years of data analysis, data mapping, and programming experience. Experience within the HVAC Controls/BAS Industry is highly desirable
  • Well-rounded system experience and field experience with small to medium facilities
  • Technical knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, AHUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, etc., preferred
  • Experience with any of the following platforms preferred: Siemens, Johnson Controls, Tridium, Delta, Honeywell, Allerton, Automated Logic Controls, etc.
  • Experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols, such as BACnet, N2, Modbus, etc., preferred.
  • Computer technology skills, including Networking, Database, Security, and Microsoft platform experience.
  • Be able to read, write, and modify simple BAS equipment programming and assist others in the activation of controls equipment at a basic level with mentor support.
  • Understand how to read and review specifications, drawings, and sequences.
  • Ability to work independently with 3rd parties such as balancers, IT engineers, and commissioning agents to configure, test, and validate systems.
  • Ability to attend customer meetings and develop or modify sequences of operations from the conversations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams.
  • Both written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
