Job Title: Commercial Building Engineer

Job Type: Full-time - Permanent

Our client is one of the top real estate investment firms in Los Angeles. They own, renovate, operate, manage and lease 1.3 million square feet of prime commercial property. They are seeking a Commercial Building Engineer to join the buildings engineering team, reporting into the Building Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate must have experience in luxury commercial high-rise buildings and extensive HVAC knowledge. This role will work in multiple property locations including Culver City, Santa Monica, and West Hollywood properties.

Responsibilities:

• Engineering maintenance for commercial building operations in the West Hollywood area.
• Daily building inspections, walking the floors of each building.
• Manage daily building operations not limited to plumbing, HVAC systems and electrical.
• The ability to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
• Ability to provide superior customer relations through positive interaction with

tenants and responsive action in addressing their needs.

• Ability to interact with vendors and suppliers to ensure that the best possible product and service is provided.
• Providing emergency on-call services for assigned buildings.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bilingual- Must be able to communicate in both English & Spanish
• 3 to 5 years' experience as a general commercial building engineer.
• A minimum of 2 years of HVAC experience on commercial buildings.
• General mechanical knowledge is required.
• Working knowledge of different types of equipment and tools.
• Ability to provide superior customer relations through positive interaction with tenants and responsive action in addressing their needs.
• Ability to interact with vendors and suppliers to ensure that the best possible product and service is provided.
• Reliable transportation, a valid Driver's License, with a clean driving record.
• Sense of urgency regarding tenant's request and follow ups.
• Must be able to be On-Call, work weekends, work shifts such as 7:30am-3:30pm PT or 8:00am-4:30pm PT.
• Must be able to physically walk for extensive periods of time.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
• Must be a team player with a can-do approach to projects and the ability to manage multiple tasks & meet deadlines.
• Working computer knowledge.
