Job Overview
Apple Valley Foods-US, located in Chaska, MN, is hiring immediately for full-time mixers to create America's best tasting pies! We are looking for great people who are looking for full time work immediately!
We have openings on the following shifts:
1st shift: start time 4:15 am-4:30 am
2nd shift: start time 12:45 pm
Responsibilities
• Responsible for all equipment functions of mixing process.
• Responsible for transferring product to holding tanks or to production lines.
• Responsible for exact mixing or blending of ingredients for product formulas according to established formulation mixing procedures and in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensures that mixing equipment is cleaned properly after each use and that equipment is maintained properly.
• Ensures that all mixing ingredients are of excellent quality and reports any discrepancies and equipment malfunctions to the reporting supervisor, immediately.
• Accurately and neatly completes all paperwork and documentation in a timely manner
• Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Follows proper GMP policies.
• Works closely with reporting supervisor to ensure a free flow of information and a close coordination of efforts.
• Is knowledgeable of company rules, regulations, policies and procedures and complies with them at all times.
• Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision and recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned. May be assigned other job-related duties to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, cooperation, and consideration towards fellow employees.
• When temporarily assigned to other job tasks or to another department, cooperates fully with assigned supervisor and peers.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED;
• One year of experience in a food processing/manufacturing/production environment is a plus;
• Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Must be able to listen and follow basic instructions and work routines from superiors;
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions;
• Ability to understand and follow safety rules and instructions;
• Able to work around flour other bakery ingredients as part of the daily activities;
• Able to work in both a hot and cold environment;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motion;
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently throughout a day;
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach and bend for extended periods of time;
• Exhibit a positive attitude within a team environment;
• Detail oriented and self-motivated;
• Regular and predictable attendance. Is flexible to work hours beyond and/or outside regular schedule to ensure proper coverage for the position when needed during peak season to include Saturdays
