Boeing Commercial Airplane is looking for an Avionics Display and Crew Alerting Engineer to join the Displays and Crew Alerting team in Everett, Washington with multi-model responsibility. Positions are available for both Displays Hardware and Displays Applications. Tasks include requirement development, test procedure development, lab testing, on-aircraft testing, requirement tracing, coordination with interfacing systems and certification support.

Position Responsibilities:

For Displays Hardware:

  • Work with the Supplier and Boeing engineers to design, develop and certify the Display system hardware equipment such as Head Down Display, Head Up Displays and associated Display Control Panels.

For Displays Applications:

  • Work with the Supplier and Boeing engineers to design, develop and certify the Display system applications such as Primary Flight Display (PFD), Navigation Display (ND), Engine Indication, Synoptics and Maintenance pages, Head Up Display (HUD), EICAS message and Electronic Checklist.

For both positions:

  • Develops and documents electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.

  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 3 or more years of experience in Avionics engineering.

  • 1 or more years of experience working with multiple internal or external stakeholders (ie business partner, customer, Finance, suppliers) in planning and executing projects.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • ABET Accreditation is preferred.

  • Experience in displays development.

  • Experience with Matlab.

  • Experience working in development programs and developing avionics system requirements.

  • Experience as a technical lead.

  • 2 or more years of system engineering or project management experience.

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
