Position Purpose

The Assistant Program Coordinator serves as a liaison and an added resource for students, faculty, and staff in the event the Program Coordinator is unavailable. The Assistant Coordinator will support the Program Coordinator by carrying out specific directives, administering documentable communications to students and faculty, and will provide oversight of training and development for program employees, reporting observations to the Coordinator and the Campus Leadership.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Assistant Program Coordinator

Serve as a liaison between the Program Coordinator, the Director of Education and students as needed for student advising and program issues that may arise.

Serve as the Lead Individual for retention of students in program, communicating concerns, situations, or other observations to appropriate parties in campus; practice effective communication with partnering departments in effort to retain students
Audit all program curricula to ensure that instructors are using the most current syllabi, lesson plans, and textbooks as indicated on the corporate intranet site.

Ensure that the program operates in compliance with the regulatory agencies governing our schools.

Provide academic and attendance advising to students.

Conduct formal classroom and shop observations, and report these to the Program Coordinator and the Director of Education.

Assist Program Coordinator by recording meeting minutes for all program held meetings.

Assist the Program Coordinator and the Director of Education in the creation, monitoring, and updating of faculty files and personnel reports.

Oversee the inventory of department equipment and supplies, submit requests for purchases to Director of Education and Campus Executive Director for replenishment of supplies as needed.

Attend and conduct in-service training seminars as needed.

Monitor student performance on required projects to ensure proper completion and compliance with the program curriculum.

Assist in Employee participation for Advisory Committee

Assist in conducting Advisory Board meetings.

Work with the Program Coordinator and the Director of Education to design and fabricate training aids that will help meet the requirements of the program curriculum.

Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed.

Help develop controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the Hazard Control system, polices, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries.

Plan, develop and implement safety training for new employee orientation and annual required programs.

Create a task sheet for each student and distribute to instructors by the first day of each mod.

Purchase all safety supplies and or training materials for the program.

Assist in equipment training, certification and/or inspections, as assigned.

Additional duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator, Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director

Supe rvis o r y Responsibilities

In the absence of Program Coordinator and all Program Management, the Assistant Program Coordinator may act as a Supervisor over Instructors and tool room personnel in their department/program.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED.

Proven supervisory experience.

Must be able to communicate well with staff, faculty, and students.

OSHA standard 10 training certification preferred.

Proficient using computers and Microsoft Office software.

Previous safety experience and implementation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
