Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an AVE Propulsion Principal Field Engineer. This position will be located in Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA and will support the GBSD Ground Base Strategic Deterrent program. Learn more about the GBSD program here .

What You'll Get To Do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for integration, assembly and test of aerospace flight vehicle and ground support equipment. Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
• Read and understand engineering documentation that applies to laboratory setup and integration. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
• Handle, prepare, and integrate solid and liquid fueled rocket boosters as part of an ICBM system for flight test.
• Implement best practices in demonstrates good hardware configuration management and tool accountability.
• Read drawings, blueprints, diagrams and create work instructions/procedures
• Utilize MS products such as Word, Excel, and Visio.
• Effectively communicate issues and help to provide solutions.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

• 5 Years of experience with Bachelor's Degree; 3 Years with Masters. Four additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
• Prior experience in an ICBM or space launch vehicle integration, production, manufacturing or test environment or like type work in a military setting.
• Experience with common hand tools and test equipment found in an integration, production, manufacturing or test environment
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Active Top Secret security clearance with adjudication in the last 6 years
• ICBM Maintenance integration, assembly, and test experience
• Experience in missile and reentry system handling and maintenance
• Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) valid in California and Utah

Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
