What you will do:

The Factory Automation Engineer will identify, develop, test, implement and support factory automation systems and initiatives within the US Region. This role will manage automation investment projects and/or support investment projects that include factory automation. This role will partner with operations, engineering, and logistics to implement tools that improve safety, productivity, and efficiency of the organization.

Function as project manager (engineering) for factory automation investment & technical project implementation for small projects. Provide expertise and support for automation topics when implemented within a larger investment project as applicable.
Analysis of existing plant and future operating plant designs for factory automation opportunities in the US Region - identify opportunities, lead development and testing.
Provide high level technical support to factory automation at US Region sites - training of local resources and support for complex problem resolution.
Coordination with Group Engineering factory automation team to share best practices, learnings, knowledge, and advocate for US Region initiatives, including development of standards.
Travel as needed domestically or internationally, 25-50% of time

What we need from you:

Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation engineering, Industrial Engineer or equivalent
3 years of related professional experience is required; 5+ years is preferred
Project management experience
Experience with factory automation technology such as robotics, cobots, AGV's, drones,
Demonstrated project management experience with factory automation installation projects - from feasibility/design to fully operational installation
Knowledge of automation principles and concepts
Experience with automation controls such as PLC's and HMI's
Functional safety technical background (ISO 13849-1/-2, IEC62061)
Experience and/or knowledge of safety technical standards for sensors and safeguarding (IEC 61496, IEC/TS 62998-1, ANSI B11.19)
Entrepreneurship and leadership skills
