LHH Recruitment Solutions (part of the Adecco Group & FKA Ajilon) is seeking an Automation Engineer for our client in the western Pittsburgh PA suburbs.

Estimated pay range is $90 - 120k based on experience with competitive benefits package that includes a 6% company match on 401k contributions. This position also offers a hybrid work structure.

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the overall development, administration, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various operations networks, historian servers, HMI's and web services. Other responsibilities include network monitoring, performance analysis, development/implementation of standards and internal customer support and fault/problem management/resolution. The Automation Engineer will coordinate with plants, internal customers and contractors, as necessary to achieve the goals above.

Responsibilities:

• Support production at multiple facilities by providing network system programming, design, troubleshooting, improvements, firewalls, services, data networks, HMIs, historian servers, data reliability, and PLC operations
• Develop, update, and maintain system documentation: Standards, configurations, network diagrams, and address tables
• Be involved as needed with development of new controls and cloud infrastructure for advanced process controls
• Maintain backups of critical data
• Generate, review, and approve functional control specifications
• Direct, coordinate, and manage internal/external project resources
• Commissioning of electrical and automation networking systems
• Meet the end user's expectations with a focus on functional effectiveness, long term reliability, and ease of maintenance.
• Typical travel is in the 20 - 40% range and very well planned, although it can be as high as 50% at times during periods of critical startups or construction. Mostly on the east coast, but there may be occasional travel to other parts of the US and international.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

• BS or AS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field
• 2+ years of experience in IT/OT, network, electrical, instrumentation, configuration, and implementation
• Proficiency with HMI programs, process control instrumentation, network protocols, web services, and troubleshooting
• Proficiency with RSlogix programming, Kepware, VMWare/VSphere, and Check Point

Nice to have:

• CCST, CAP, Microsoft, Cisco, network, or security certifications
• Experience with Aveva InTouch / Wonderware, Rockwell Contrologix, or Compact Logix
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, C, C++, or Java
• Experience working in a production environment with heavy equipment use
