Description: Our client is currently seeking a Automation Engineer II
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work collaboratively with the development/engineering teams to build/test/deploy pipelines and operate our infrastructure and platforms Automate the deployment of day zero Infrastructure configurations such as Windows/Linux on virtual platforms. Understand the differences and commonality in technical requirements, end-user needs, and security and compliance requirements of each environment Evaluate and implement technologies that improve efficiency, performance and reliability Develop and deliver creative solutions that enable engineering teams Build common tools and procedures to streamline and standardize development and deployment Design, write and document scripted functionality to increase availability, scalability, efficiency and repeatability
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree/certificate or equivalent work experience. Typically requires a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience deploying and/or administrating infrastructure solutions Relevant certification is preferred MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of experience in infrastructure administration, DevOps, development, or similar role Hands-on experience with at least one programming language (Python, Node js, JavaScript is an advantage) Understanding of vRealize Orchestrator Strong understanding of API connectivity Good knowledge of IT Infrastructure components (Linux\Windows servers, network devices is an advantage) Strong organization skills Good analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
