Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Associate Structural Design Engineer / Structural Design Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on ourVehicle Engineering department. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida, and may require on-site support at product manufacturing and integration sites. This position can be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
The Structural Design Engineer utilizes the NX-TeamCenter tool suite in the design of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using metallic and/or composite materials for new aircraft design and/or modifications to existing aircraft. Engineers work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, interfacing with IPT leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to engineer design solutions to challenging problems through the development of Product Definition Packages.

Basic Qualifications for the Associate Structural Design Engineer:
Salary Range 2: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 2 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in structural design OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience designing aircraft structure
- Proficiency with NX Solid Modelling
- Proficiency with TeamCenter
