This position provides drafting support for new or existing projects under the guidance of the Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager or Senior Project Manager. The Draftsperson will develop knowledge of the entire project development process from criteria review through the building department, landlord review and comment process.

Job Details

What You Will Be Doing:

• Prepare construction drawings, including completing red-lined drawings using SketchUp and AutoCAD software
• Draft details from sketches and assemble and review an entire set of construction drawings under the

direction an immediate supervisor

• Develop a thorough understanding of the office standards for AutoCAD operation
• Develop working understanding of project file organization, drawing set-up and maintenance
• Provide and maintain accurate project documentation per office standards, including, phone, fax and

written documentation.

• Assist in the distribution of plans to vendors and contractors
• Develop knowledge of the entire project development process from criteria review through the

building department and landlord review and comment process

• Prepare building department response letters under supervision
• Under the direction of a supervisor, contact and interact with landlords, tenant coordinators and

building department officials, clients, architectural and engineering consultants

• Interact with clients and architectural design staff on project clarification and other MEP requirements
• Consult technical handbooks and guidelines and assist in landlord research and code compliances
• Assist with field surveys as needed
• Provide MEP support on one or multiple projects

What You Need To Apply:

• Minimum 2 years of related drafting experience, which includes retail and/or commercial

projects

• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, building codes and mechanical,

electrical and plumbing codes as they relate to construction of project

• Ability to interpret construction data, engineering calculations, drawings and specifications
• Ability to interpret and apply state and local codes
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp
• Ability to conduct field surveys
• Must be comfortable in a support role and possess the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong time management skills and the ability to handle the pressure of tight deadlines
• Ability to multitask and produce accurate work
• Willing to be tested on AutoCAD skills on Microsoft version 2010 or above at the time of the interview
