Job Overview
The Waldinger Corporation, a growing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Sheet Metal industry leader, is adding a Specialty Metals Manager to our Des Moines office!
We seek an enthusiastic person with strong architectural, leadership, and organizational skills. The Specialty Metals Manager is responsible for demonstrating leadership and multi-discipline communications with internal and external customers. The Specialty Metals Manager acts as the subject matter expert on best practices and overall project management. They are proven leaders within the company and industry.
Requirements:
Skilled in the use of best practice, in order to mentor and teach others best practice in - estimating, architecture, prefabrication, specialty metals, scheduling, communication, and productive labor management.
Take charge of specialty projects that include, but are not limited to: aluminum composite metals (ACM), insulated metal wall panels, single skin wall panels, general flashings, and restoration/specialty metalwork.
Act as the Architectural Specialist for metal wall systems, utilizing knowledge of underlayment, skins, and flashings for various types of building applications.
Commitment to and advocacy for creative approaches to installation procedures and problem-solving, all while consistently meeting company goals.
Ability to anticipate and respond to customer needs in a timely manner while marketing our services and clearly identifying/explaining any deviations or changes to the scope of work.
Act as a leader in safety on projects, advancing safe production at every opportunity with project personnel, and promoting our safety culture.
Build and own relationships with customers, while being capable of driving sales of work through personal relationships or success. Protects the company's financial interests but puts long term relationship value ahead of the last dollar - is a win-win negotiator at all levels.
Willingness to volunteer extra effort to help others when they need assistance, in addition to demonstrating exceptional effort on their own work.
Be regarded by industry peers as a leader in project management, doing what it takes to ensure the overall success of the department and the division.
Perform other duties and tasks as determined by the Department Manager.
10 years of experience in Architectural/Specialty Metal Systems preferred.
