Our Automotive Division is looking for a self-motivated, energetic and results-oriented Field Applications Engineer. An individual who can manage and grow the Automotive LED Lighting customer base within the North American marketplace with his/her technical expertise in the fields of Automotive LED Lighting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth technical product support to Tier 1 and OEM customers for Exterior and Interior Automotive LED lighting solutions to support Design-In activities
• Create and deliver technical presentations for Tier 1s and OEMs to help sales team identify new opportunities
• Assist customers with design reviews, worst case analysis, device selection, and system evaluation
• Build and develop trusting relationships with key engineers and decision makers at Tier 1s and OEMs
• Provide/Present Optical Simulations, Thermal Simulations, and Light Output Simulations to support Tier 1s, OEMs and internal teams
• Provide application support to existing Seoul Semiconductor customers and foster new relationships with potential new customers and partners by developing design proposals
• Candidate will help position our automotive lighting division for long-term growth in the market.
• Act as a regional technical expert focused on automotive LED lighting solutions.
• Effectively work on global/regional business unit projects as required.
• Support internal growth and product application/technical training for field staff and customers.
• Responsible for direct communication with sales, marketing and product development members of the global organization.

Requirements

• BS or MS Degree (preferred) in an Engineering Discipline.
• Experience with Solidworks, Lucidshape and LT Spice is a plus.
• Basic Understanding of automotive lighting standards and regulations (FMVSS 108, AEC-Q102, USCAR33, LM-80 etc.)
• 5 years experience in developing automotive exterior and interior lighting applications "is a must", preferably based on LEDs, with practical experience in product, module and/or system evaluation
• An understanding of the concept of thermal management and photometry for Automotive Lighting applications viewed as distinct advantages
• Availability to travel to global customer visits, conferences and internal alignment meetings
• Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on Excel/PowerPoint and the ability to learn and regularly navigate a CRM system.
