This role is primarily located in our offices in Waltham, MA. It can also be located in Syracuse, NY, and n Brooklyn, NY.


What you'll do


As a Solution Architect, you'll be responsible for coordinating and defining the efforts of multiple teams to produce a full end-to-end solution including Third Party Architects, Network Engineers, Cloud Architects, Business Analysts, Data Architects, Domain Architects, Enterprise Architects, Quality Engineers, Integration Architects, and Software & System Engineers through the Systems Development Life Cycle.


You'll play a crucial part in the multi-year, multi-million dollar Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) program initiative that brings transformative change to the dynamic and intelligent management of energy resources. Key responsibilities include the following:


  • Define and Design the interaction among the components in a multi-cloud, high-volume critical platform.
  • Ensure solutions meet quality standards including compliance, security, robustness, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Identify, compares, and recommend technical options provided by each platform.
  • Work with Commercial, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure & Operations, and Strategy & Innovation to ensure the holistic solution meets IT strategy and standards.
  • Create conceptual designs and lead the path through the review and approval efforts.
  • Align the design with industry standards and practices
  • Work with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure architecture aligns with business objectives & IT Strategy.



What you'll need


  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or in a related field; a Master's Degree is preferred
  • At least 10+ years of experience working in the technology industry with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a multi-cloud distributed ecosystem, ideally with remote devices
  • Experience with IT teams as part of a large multi-year, business-critical technology program
  • Thorough knowledge of AMI including the MDMS, head-end systems, meters, as well as the data and features required for a successful deployment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Agile software delivery models (SAFe, Kanban, Scrum, etc.)

Salary

$139,000 - $197,000 a year

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company's testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
