Alaska Overview ConocoPhillips is Alaska's largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.6 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2021. The company produced an average of 197 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2021. ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North America's largest oil fields, both located on Alaska's North Slope-Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates the Alpine Field located on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet. Description This is a Safety Sensitive position As the Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) Specialist you will serve an important role within the ConocoPhillips Alaska Aviation team. If you are selected, you will facilitate HSE in the flight operations, aircraft maintenance, aviation ground services, and airport operations functional areas. You will report to the ConocoPhillips Aviation HSE Supervisor. Your responsibilities may include: Provide technical Health, Safety, and Environmental support to the Alaska Aviation team Maintain appropriate technical and practical knowledge of applicable standards, laws, rules, and regulations Monitor, maintain, and implement Health, Safety & Environmental management programs as needed Ensure safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental data is entered consistently and accurately into the applicable databases Measure and report conformance to the HSE Management System requirements Oversee audits and subsequent corrective action plans Oversee calibration, repair, and preventative maintenance of X-Ray equipment Perform necessary industrial hygiene sampling and related services and maintain appropriate sampling databases Maintain compliance with medical surveillance requirements Oversee and maintain HSE training materials and records Evaluate workplace conditions in aircraft hangars, aircraft, and office settings to identify hazards and minimize employee injuries Basic/Required: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Management, Business, Aviation Safety, or related field or foreign equivalent Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams Willing and able to travel 20% (with or without reasonable accommodation) on an annual basis Preferred: Safety certifications (CSP, CIH, OSHT etc.) 3+ years of experience as an HSE professional 1+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance, flight, or airport operations Experience with the application of the Incident Command System (ICS) in a corporate setting Experience in investigating, documenting, and providing solutions based on root cause analysis methodology; ability to recognize hazards, assess risk and suggest an appropriate mitigation plan An understanding and/or working knowledge of FAA and OSHA regulations Ability to represent ConocoPhillips to outside agencies and organizations in a professional manner Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals Listens actively and invites new ideas for shared understanding, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results To be considered for this position you must complete the entire application process, which includes answering all prescreening questions and providing your eSignature on or before the requisition closing date of October 27, 2022.
