Job Description Aerodynamics Local Specialist Indianapolis, IN The Component and Subsystem Design Engineering aero teams are responsible for the aerodynamic design and validation of modules in the gas turbine main flow-path. Working alongside the mechanical design teams these aerodynamic teams specify the gas-washed surfaces and commit to system performance levels Dream Big and Make an Impact As part of Aerodynamics Local Specialist you will also responsible for the system design aerodynamics team also provides support to engine environmental protection such as foreign object damage, sand, ice and hot gas. You can learn more here Key Accountabilities: Guide and audit aero designs and the design process of the gas turbine flowpath and mentor to the full gas turbine community, sharing design knowledge and insights as well as in-service experience. Generate and interpret aerodynamic results from analysis and/or experimentation and guide others in those interpretations. Contribute to our aerodynamics capability acquisition strategies. Pass judgment on production components that deviate from print tolerances. Maintain and improve aerodynamics standards, requirements, and methods for the aerodynamic community, working with local and global councils as appropriate. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years experience in gas turbine aerodynamics, OR Master's Degree and 3+ years experience in gas turbine aerodynamics, OR JD/PhD In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Preferred Requirements: Expertise in gas turbine aero design and broad understanding of associated mechanical design issues The successful candidate will have experience in gas turbines from industry and/or academic research Pioneer the next generation of innovation.
