Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Yarn Setup Mechanic role, under supervision of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for setting up and adjusting equipment in the Yarn department. This is a hands-on position that requires mechanical aptitude and independent judgment.

Primary Accountabilities:

• Prepare Yarn Department equipment and make adjustments as necessary for each work order.
• Solely perform changeovers between work orders to meet specifications.
• Ensure Yarn Department is running smoothly by managing operators and work order flow.
• Oversee Yarn operators to ensure quality workmanship and accuracy.
• Assist the Yarn team in making sure they have all the necessary resources to perform the job efficiently (i.e. materials, equipment).
• Address productivity and quality concerns with team members directly, while keeping the supervisor abreast of any issues.
• Perform periodic quality checks within Yarn Department to ensure compliance to specifications and/or COAs.
• Communicate with management team on efficiency and quality matters within department.
• Capable of performing other duties assigned by management as required.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Mechanical aptitude is necessary.
• Ability to read various measurement equipment including tape measures, calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders to understand machine setup requirements.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision.
• Excellent attendance required.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Visually inspecting products and employees.
• Communicating with employees and management.
• Stooping, bending, and moving about plant for up to 12 hours per day.
