Senior Accountant-CI2010-132
Senior Accountant capable of developing into full back-up role for Accounting Manager.  Use exceptional systems skill-sets to help automate and streamline accounting, reporting and administrative processes and improve accuracy of financials and information provided to the department's internal customers.  Assist with oversight/streamlining of AMEX, PCard and T&E administration.   Take on monthly/annual duties of general, tax, treasury and audit functions including but not limited to journal entry preparation, account analysis, miscellaneous billings, weekly cash flow forecasts, S&U and Property Tax compliance, bank reconciliations, weekly cash flow forecasts, insurance renewals, tax pack preparation, government or other filings, and other tasks, as needed.  Back-up A/P, A/R, Fixed Asset Accounting and other areas, as requested.   Assist in inventory and fixed asset physicals, as needed.
  • Develop into Full Backup for Manager - General Accounting & Cash                       
  • Assist in improving use of reporting tools available in AMEX, Concur, JPM and other banks.     
  • Help develop exception reports to flag problem areas (master data issues, user problems, account/accrual issues, etc).  Train finance and non-finance associates in proper use.   Assist in documenting policies & procedures.
  • Reconcile all assigned B/S accounts.  Identify ways to speed up and streamline the reconciliation process for whole department, including automation of bank reconciliations.                                          
  • Assist in successful monthly closings - meet all reporting deadlines - provide full back-up to Mgr - Gen Acctg & Cash and help find ways to reduce the time for monthly closings                                               
  • Account and financial analysis.   Maintenance of adequate accruals.   Review necessary P&L accounts and identify areas of opportunity for savings.                                                                                             
  • Prepare Cash Flow Forecasts                                                                                   
  • Assist in administering Credit Card programs.                                                            
  • Assist in preparation of the annual Tax Package for Areva NC                                  
  • Assist with insurance renewal information                                                                   
  • Prepare Sales & Use tax returns.  Assist in maintaining accurate tax rates in system.   
  • Prepare assorted statutory filings with various Federal, State and Muncipal governments.           
  • Miscellaneous billings - create invoices and post transactions                                     
  • Prepare requested analysis for submission of required Magnitude and Flash information to Corporate parent      
  • Learn how to load and update Magnitude; backup Controller/Acctg Mgr.                 
  • Support department and company managing special projects                                      
  • Assist in preparation and consolidation of budget and forecasts

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. 
  • Bachelor of Science - Accounting (BS in other field or exceptional years of experience in the Accounting field will be considered, if combined with exceptional SAP knowledge.)
  • Thorough knowledge of computerized accounting / manufacturing systems and MS Office.
  • SAP FICO experience.
  • Exceptional computer skills.  Must be able to quickly and efficiently manipulate data for analysis.
  • Must be a critical thinker with very strong analytical skills. 
  • Ability and desire to identify problem areas and implement and integrate new processes to streamline efficiency.  Must be able to draw conclusions, present recommendations to management, and execute agreed-upon plan.
  • Ability to support outside, internal and tax audit requirements.
  • Possess general knowledge of sales and use tax and general property tax laws
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and coordinate/execute multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently on project-related assignments & present feedback in an organized manner.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when reporting or project deadlines are at stake.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.  
  • Ability to document processes, advise others and ensure compliance with process.  Professional demeanor dealing with internal associates and external vendors/customers
  • Ability to identify and create exception-based reporting to speed up financial inaccuracy checks and identification of compliance problems.
  • Ability to train clerical staff to assist in identifying accounting/process compliance.
  • Ability to train non-financial staff in understanding transactional impacts and compliance issues.
  • Must be self-motivated and a self-starter with good organization skills and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing to pitch in and help others in the finance or operations' teams when needed.
  • Willingness to keep current in field (with training, reading materials, etc)
  • Motivation and work ethic to develop into management role.
 The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • SAP COPA experience highly desired. 
  • SAP Report Writing experience highly desired.
  • Experience with gathering tax information for corporate income tax filings.
  • CMA/CPA or equivalent certification highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of Cash/Treasury function
  • Experience with maintaining fixed assets and with property tax returns.
  • Working knowledge of Concur software
  • Association Membership; e.g. IMA, ASWA,  IIA, AAA, NAFA, etc
