Sr. Mechanical PM & Business Development Lead

The primary duties of this role include the following: Planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of multi-discipline projects in varying sizes and degrees of technical complexity for the Power and Energy Program. Projects could range from $100k up to >$5M. This individual would manage the larger design jobs and serve as a senior advisor and client manager on the smaller and medium projects. Establishes client relations and drives a significant program of power and energy related business in the local/regional market. Familiarity and established relationships with utilities and power and energy clients in the state and region is a must. Other responsibilities: Involved with the production and coordination of several projects (based on size and complexity of those projects) concurrently including the design and engineering for existing coal plant retrofits, new conventional power generation, energy conservation, and gas turbines. Utilizes appropriate technical resources and staff to meet client and project needs. Coordinates workload of the staff through the entire project development, design and construction stages. Serves as mechanical lead as appropriate on projects where technical background merits such a role. Utilize HDR project management tools to track the financial aspects of the projects, and coordinates and adjusts the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed to schedule and budget. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, PE required. 10+ years in mechanical system design of power and energy facilities. Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination and project management experience. Previous consulting experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm a plus.
