POSITION DESCRIPTION
 
CANBERRA-AREVA is searching for an enthusiastic and well-spoken  Research Scientist with an entrepreneurial spirit, willing to learn and propose attainable and worthwhile solutions to challanges in our Fundamental Research Group related to Advanced Digital Signal Processing.

Summary of Duties:

 

You will be responsible for assisting in developing and verifying the operation of Canberra products.  Act independently to develop and analyze the performance and proper application of existing and new analysis techniques.  With assistance, manage development projects of new analysis technique and systems.

 

Qualifications
 Education/Training:
MS in Physics or Nuclear Engineering (PhD Preferred)

Skills/Knowledge:
Candidates MUST have:
·        A solid foundation in the field of radiation detection and measurement.
·        Very good math skills and knowledge of Statistics.
·        Knowledge of computer simulation (Monte Carlo) techniques.
·        Excellent oral and written communication skills.
·        Experience providing Physics support for new product development, customer orders and proposals.
·        Experience participating in research projects.
·        Knowledge of Advanced Digital Signal Processing
·        Ability to perform sustaining functions providing technical input for Customer Support, Product Support, Sales and Marketing Support etc
 
Previous Experience:
3 years experience (applied) (PhD is equivalent to 3 years)
 
Other:
Programming skills in Visual Basic and C++ would be a plus.
Travel may be required in support of systems installations or sales.
