CANBERRA-AREVA is searching for a General Manager for it's Dover NJ facility.  This person will be responsible for the effective operation of the manufacturing facility and its employees.

Summary of Duties
Manage the Dover location Engineering, Manufacturing and Administration departments.
The General Manager of Manufacturing and Operations will be responsible for the effective operation of the manufacturing facility and its employees.
 The successful candidate will be hands on leader in terms of material cost, quality, employee relations, delivery performance and manufacturing metrics.
 This position will also be responsible for ensuring facility compliance to federal, state and local mandates with respect to environmental regulations, employee safety and labor law. Foster a plant environment that promotes teamwork and cohesive action. Develop a cooperative e approach to problem solving and issue resolution with all employees. Ensure that issues or concerns are addressed in a timely, objective and professional manner.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.  Candidates must have experience:
  • Coordinating and directing plant operations in the achievement of production, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Ensuring the quality of products produced at the facility is consistent with intended design and desired image. Providing leadership, direction and examples necessary to ingrain this principle in other members of the team.
  • Facilitating the development of strategies and corrective actions to resolve quality issues as necessary.
  • Providing leadership, direction, and example in the development and retention of a safe working environment. Foster participation of the workforce to enhance awareness and cooperation.
  • Ensuring that housekeeping and production activities are consistent with good manufacturing practices.
  • Providing direction for the efficient utilization of labor and materials.
  • Managing the production plan so as to maximize service to the customer at the best possible cost.
  • Hiring, training and developing subordinates as required to support the business plan.
  • Leading progressive managerial assignments in a process oriented manufacturing environment for a minimum of fifteen years.
  • As a Plant/Facility Manager in an environment of 100+ employees, in Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and ERP.


The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

  • Experience with the development and administration of the facility's annual operations budget. Ensuring that the various reporting departments incorporated in the budget maintain compliance with their approved annual operation plan.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills to foster interaction with other business units and various reporting departments critical to the facilities ability to efficiently and effectively meet the business needs.
  • Knowledge of military procurement requirements and specifications.
  • Familiarity with radiation detection equipment/technology.
  • Comfortable with the use of the internet for information access and email communications.


BS degree in Management, Engineering and/or Industrial Science with a minimum of 10 years management experience
