Transnuclear, Inc., a subsidiary of Areva and premier provider of storage and transportation of spent nuclear fuel and other radioactive materials, is seeking a Senior Project Manager.  The focus of this position will include: 
  • Providing project leadership for the storage of spent nuclear fuel;
  • Responsible for completing projects under or on-budget and on-schedule;
  • Providing primary interface between project team, management, and client(s);
  • Managing cash flow and ensuring attainment of expected cash positions and cost declarations;
  • Developing assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project(s);
  • Utilizing approved project management methods and processes to execute projects in meeting client needs and expectations; and
  • Preparing and tracking project schedule(s), budget(s), and materials and equipment within scope of project(s) to ensure satisfactory project performance.
Other duties may involve activities such as:
  • Supporting the licensing, engineering/design, fabrication, installation and fuel loading efforts and/or the resolution of other projects.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this Senior Project Manager opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering or related discipline, plus 12-15 years of project management work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Good knowledge of nuclear safety issues and requirements;
  • Excellent verbal, communication, report development, and presentation skills;   
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on "root cause" analysis;
  • Excellent organization, planning and priority setting skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; 
  • Ability to build effective teams in shifting work efforts based on the needs of a project or business goals while maintaing attention to detail; and
  • Excellent knowledge of major project plan development, implementation, and administration including knowledge of sector and project processes, procedures, and tools. 
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Commercial nuclear industry experience
  • 10 CFR, part 50, 71, and 72 experience
  • Primavera scheduling software experience
  • Steel and/or concrete fabrication experience
  • ASME, ANSI, AISC, and ACI code experience
